so i guess i've been feeling a little too good recently, so it was time to catch a break the hard way. a good friend of mine took me out to a new (to me) climbing area with many freestanding boulders below a crazy looking cliff band. lots of first ascent potential, super gorgeous vista of central oregon facing east. it was freaking beautiful.
after the short hike, we did a warm up called Jennies Arete, which took me like 5 tries to get. some warm-up, shortly after i figured i'd give this slabby route a try. about midway up i felt a distinct "pop" in my left middle finger, bailed off the route, and spent the rest of the day drinking hams and spotting tristan on some of the area classics. i'll post some pics of the place soon, i just have to find my camera cable. CHEERS!
